Inspired by ancient Japanese traditions of soaking in Ofuro tubs, the True Ofuro Japanese style bathtub is a ‘sit and soak’, solid surface bathtub, featuring a deep design for a full-body immersion. Crafted in USA, this immaculately sculpted tub is available with an optional inline water heater and digital control panel with temperature display, which will reduce water consumption and provide for a prolonged soaking experience at very comfortable temperatures.

One of the True Ofuro's key features is it's carefully designed elevated rim for improved bathers neck and head support, and the convenient ergonomic seating, which allows the body to be comfortably emerged to maximum water capacity.

The international industrial design team, commissioned by Aquatica to create this product, used advanced CAD tools, modeling and repeated testing with real size prototype units, in order to reach the optimal balance between ergonomic comfort and visual appeal for this one of a kind bathtub.

Thanks to the AquateX™ material, this Japanese soaking tub retains heat for much longer and has a silky and smooth surface. Besides being one of our most space conscious bathtubs, the freestanding and petite construction of this Japanese style bathtub means that it can be installed pretty much anywhere in your bathroom.

The Story Behind Aquatica’s True Ofuro

Aquatica brings the real flavor of Japanese bathing into the modern era with the True Ofuro Bathtub. The growing popularity of Japanese style decor and increasing demand for compact bathtubs for small, contemporary bathrooms inspired Aquatica’s international team to create their own modern adaptation of the Japanese soaker. Traditionally, the Ofuro is a deep soaking tub made of hinoki wood. Using proprietary stone composite, Aquatica created an ergonomically designed Japanese soaker, revolutionizing the traditional sit and soak experience, with optional spa features such as hydromassage and chromotherapy. Aquatica’s Japanese inspired designs are truly unique, and the company holds three patents in the United States.

This is a simple and more fashionable alternative to installing steps or recessing the tub into the floor. Carefully crafted from high-quality wood, the True Ofuro step is available to buy in either American Walnut or Teak. The step is recommended for older people or individuals shorter than 5’ ½ ”.

Optional Easy Cleaning With NanoGuard™

NanoGuard™ - a nanotechnology based sacrificial layer of protection. NanoGuard™ utilizes nanotechnology and tiny particles that form a very fine, thin layer completely invisible to the eye, making the surface water-repellent, resistant to UV, minor scratches, harsh chemicals, and anti-graffiti. NanoGuard™ is completely transparent and absolutely crucial for a good everyday performance and durability for solid surface bathtubs and lavatories, especially if used in commercial applications. The practical implication to the end user is that bath salts, soap, oily fingerprints and bath oils will have a more difficult time bonding to your bathtubs surface, while upon cleaning all these contaminants can be removed with relatively little effort (damp microfiber cloth and dishwashing detergent).

60% of AquateX™ is composed of the aluminum mineral that is derived from bauxite, a deeply weathered volcanic rock. By combining a high percentage of all the best properties of natural materials; and a low percentage of state-of-the-art acrylic resins; we were able to create a desirable, high performance cast stone material that is specifically, suitable for high-end bathroom applications.
